Other ServicesThrough our combined years in photography, we have had the unique opportunity to gain skills and experience in many different disciplines within photography, from portraits and weddings to science and travel. Please view our galleries to see our work in these areas. 1. PORTRAITS are our record of ourselves through the years. They mark important moments and stages of growth. Portraits are the way we share our families with friends and relatives distant from us but close to our hearts. Portraits can also be of pets. Our pets are often as much family members as our children. Portraits should be very personal, an expression of yourself. For this reason, we prefer to do portraits at a location of your choice rather than in a studio, though studio portrait sessions are always available. 2. WEDDINGS are one of the most beautiful and special events that many of us experience. Photographs from that day capture the experience and preserve it for years to come, allowing you to relive that day and to share it with others. We would be honored to photograph your special day. 3. SPORTS are everywhere in our society. We are all involved in sports to some degree. We play sports ourselves or watch our children play. We have photographed high school football, Minor League and children's baseball, softball, bow-hunting competitions, and kayaking in the mountains. We have also photographed at numerous NASCAR races. Do you or your church or your company sponser a softball team or other team sports? Does your school have a field day? These are wonderful places to cement memories of your children, your friends, and your family. 4. TRAVEL photography exhibits the sites and experiences from locations both exotic and around-the-corner. We have traveled to London, Paris, Ireland, Mexico, California, Kentucky, Tennessee, Montana, Florida, and all over North Carolina. 5. HISTORIC photography covers many areas. History is all around us, blending with our daily lives. There are historic locations and artifacts as well as living history in war reenactments and other historically-based events. We have attended several of these events as well as visited many historic sites. We have traveled to London, Paris, Ireland, Mexico, California, Kentucky, Tennessee, Montana, Florida, and all over North Carolina. 6. MUSEUM photography is the photography of the artifacts and exhibits that make up the museum's collection. They can be very simple cataloguing photographs or beautiful displays of the majesty of the artifacts themselves. Melissa completed an internship with the National Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. During the internship, she experienced a wide range of photography in the museum and at support centers offsite. Three of her photographs were published in the Guidebook to the National Museum of Natural History. 7. SCIENTIFIC photography has a strict methodology that guides its developement and that is used to ensure the authenticity of the photographs produced. This is extremely important in Forensic Photography. Some of these photographs can also become art. By combining color and creativity with science, intriguing pieces of art can be born.
